CHARMIAN GOOCH: MEET GLOBAL CORRUPTION’S HIDDEN PLAYERS


Summary
When we imagine corruption it tends to be a minister or despot of a small overseas nation, living in fabulous luxury. Charmian lists a few perfect examples of this behaviour. However, these people cannot operate without support from the rest of the world. Their mansions and art purchases are arranged through global banks, and despots in oil-rich nations must do deals with the largest oil companies.

My OPINION

There were a lot of examples throughout this talk, and I struggled to find a take-away message from it. The main point was that corruption is everywhere – involving companies that are household names, and they are part of the corruption instigated by international despots.

                                                                      CARNIVAL Hello I'm Abde and I'm going to talk about the carnival from my town and other nearby towns.  The carnival in Roses is celebrated on February 21 and 22. But the carnival of my town, Castelló d'Empúries is celebrated on February 29.  In carnival, teenage boys and girls drink alcohol and disguise themselves, but normally people go in floats disguised as a group. In Castelló d'Empúries in the pavilion the carnival night at 12 at night they make a party with dj that you can only enter if you are dressed. My friend Marti's father has a paintball company, and he leaves us paintball suits and we use them as costumes. I go to carnival only with my real friends. PROJECTE 2: MY WORLD 1

Israeli–Palestinian conflict I 'm going to talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, when I talk about this conflict I'm very worried because innocent people are dying.  This conflict is happening for a politican reason. Palestinian p eople are suffering a lot,  because of this reason Palestine which is a very beautiful country is in chaos. I think that if all the countries speak and try to convince Israel to stop the war, they would stop it. I take this wording of "my world" to talk about this topic because it is a topic that worries me a lot and that has been going on for many years. It's a shame because Israel and Palestine could be two very nice and friendly countries! As I said before, I am very concerned about this conflict, but I feel that people do not talk a lot about it.

It is probably the first ever science fiction novel, too.
